The Army School of Education is also home to the AGC (ETS) Branch Training Course, where officers commissioning to become military teachers will arrive after completing 44 weeks of training at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst.

 

On completion of the 11 week course, students will have enrolled on a PGCE at Southampton University and begun their observed teaching practices, as well as partially completing their first assignment.

The BT Course also have the chance to put their Sandhurst leadership experience and military skills into practice while instructing the PODP; mentored by the PODP instructors who will have commissioned a few years earlier and already hold a PGCE.

 

They will cover everything from navigation to politics while also learning more about education from Southampton University lecturers and, invaluably, their increasing experience teaching and leading soldiers.
